Marc Yaffee Mesa Concert reviews
This was not a Diana Krall concert!!!
What a disappointment this Tom Waits concert was, much like his music, it felt like a total train wreck. She only sang 2 songs from Wallflower on her 'Wallflower' tour. Most of the songs I had never heard on her recordings. It was very short, and she looked incredibly nervous. Her constant toe tapping with her boots on the wood stage floor was distracting. I have loved her music for years, but this was my first live concert. She seems to be going the direction of Miles Davis, damn what the audience wants. The first 3rd was a honkytonk jam. Achhh! The guitar player and drummer were great though. Bass player was out of tune. Something is definitely wrong. Don't go if I had known I would have sold my tickets.
